Interview Preparation

For some people, going to an interview can be quite a daunting and unnerving task, especially if you have not been in one in years. Here are some points to ponder on, just to help you get started:

3 Key Points:

Presentation – dress smart, look tidy and ensure you are on time. Be friendly and courteous, and be receptive and open towards your interviewer(s).

Articulation – speak clearly, make eye contact and listen. If you do not understand a question ask for clarification.

Preparation – know the company and the questions you want to ask. Make sure you practice.

You are likely to feel nervous, but this is normal so don’t let it overwhelm you. Make sure you get a good night’s sleep the night before, know the exact time and place of the interview and organise what you will wear in advance.

First Interview
The first interview at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare will be a structured, formal interview, usually with 2 or 3 company representatives, and will also give you a chance to learn more about us.

There will be time in the interview for you to seek further information. Make sure you have some questions prepared before the interview.

Second Interview

If you are invited to participate in a second interview, we will arrange for you to have a tour of the areas you will be working in if you are offered the position. You will also get to meet Human Resources, some Managers and their teams. We will give you plenty of notice and let you know how long you will need to allow for this interview.
